Is it good to buy a PS 2 now?

How much is a PS2 if its new or second hand these days? Because I read that PS3 is coming and it could be a bad choice to buy a PS2 now.

It sure would be a bad choice buying PS2 as PS3 is coming, they may be cheap but I wouldn't giv emy money for a PS2 when i could give something more for a btter gaming console as PS3 is, right?
