Is there still for more web design companies?

Well 10 years ago maybe, bu today the market is filled with so many designers and scripters that its really hard to amke ends meet anymore...

Are you a web designer or coder? Do you feel the strain?

yes of course there is :) Just price so high that you get only 1 or 2 BIG clients and that will feed you well ;)
In other words they are a dying breed, most either join big companies that pay basics or do it as a side line.
